Getting Ready for your Photo Session

Getting Ready for your Photo Session

Always arrive on time, if possible arrive 5-10 minutes before depending on how much preparation you need. If the photographer schedule you for 5pm, it means the session will begin at 5pm exactly.

Before the Photo Session:

  • Think of the Theme or Idea you would like to capture in your session (Beach, Formal, Earthsy, Romantic, etc.)
  • Think of outfits. Not everyone has to wear same color or same outfit.
  • Get rest before the session (depending on how long the session will be).
  • Eat before the session.
  • Bring any Props you would like incorporated into the session (Baby items, engagement rings, sentimental items, etc.).
  • Talk to the photographer before if you have any questions or changes.

Outfits:

  • Don't feel like everyone has to wear same color or outfit.
  • Don't be embarrassed to show your creativity or personality, especially when it comes to dressing up kids.
  • Not everyone has to look formal.
  • Keep in mind the outfit you are wearing and the poses you have in mind. Dresses that are very short might be little more tricky to work around poses that required sitting, or on a windy day. This might make you uncomfortable and the photos won't come out as expected.
  • Clothes are supposed to be fun and reflect your personality so GET WILD!

The most important part is to talk to your photographer about any concerns or questions you have, enjoy the session, and have fun!.
